The joint graduation ceremony for the above mentioned universities was held at the Palace of the Golden Horses,Kuala Lumpur on the 21st November,2008. Graduates from Indonesia, China, Vietnam, United Kingdom and Malaysia were present and Professor Francois of UBI, Prof Lucien of UBI, Prof Tom Azim of Irvine University, Mr Anthony Lee of Irvine University, and Prof Stephen Tvorik of International American University presented the degrees to the graduands. The graduation ceremony was a very successful event and this year a total of 250 graduates received their scrolls.

With the current poor performance in project closures, it is anticipated that there is a demand for such program tying up to the NINTH MALAYSIA PLAN. The team comprises of representatives from Malaysian Education provider, Australian based Institute working around a US Based University program.

Completed the marking of MGT 409 Module's assignment. Although none of the students achieved an "A", 2 passed with "B" while the rest is hovering along "B-" and "C". I've made the necessary comments in the examiners report and hope the student will try to improve thier assignments next time round.

Conducted lecture for Bachelors in Business Admin, Irvine University California on Managing Supplier relationships at KL Malaysian Institute of Purchasing Management here in KL. As most of the students are seasoned purchaser for their companies, the session went on smoothly.

However, towards the tail end of the lecture, most of the questions evolves around their assignment papers. Managed to guide the students on their assignment paper and spent almost three-quarter of the session on such subject.

KL International Business - Assignment Papers

Completed the students' assignment grading. What a disappointment as most of the result falls short of my expectations. Most of the scores hovers around a "C" or "C-". There seems to be an acceptable understanding of the subject being discussed but (i) students lack the "critical thinking" by asking the question..."so what?" to the statements made in their paper and (ii) not able to link back the statements to the issues at hand, i.e. the case.

Well, I hope they will make through the program and pray that they improve on the (i) para phrasing, (ii) spelling (please turn on the spell checker for goodness sake....) and (iii) presentation especially the format and layout.

Basing on the submission, seems like these papers were done on a rather last minute thinggy... and looks like I have to conduct a seminar on how to project-manage the assignment paper and later writing a winning assignment papers...
